Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Dad is contemplating selling his 2003 C4S coupe for a cab of some sort. The good: New clutch this year New front rotors and pads (Zimmerman) last month LN engineering "fix" 50,000km One season old michelins 6spd man Never tracked, garage queen essentially The bad: Had a front end collision on R corner, Cracked bumper, new headlight, front quarter panel to the tune of about $7000 (no fault some idiot went into right turn lane to run a light clipped my dads car while he was making a left). Happened 3 years ago. Canadian car. Figuring in the mid 30's due to collision?

POST 2Original post

I just purchased a very similar car. Canadian car 2003 C4s had front collision similar damage cost. Mine has all new brakes, new tires, new coolant bottle, new clutch, rms.All service records since new. Black on black. I paid 27k for mine I would not have gone above 30 for it. I looked at an equally optioned car that had not been in a collision for 36k for reference. In the end you cannot tell mine was hit it has better records and I paid a lot less.

POST 3Original post

Dr. Mitch, Ultra-low mileage should bring a premium especially if the front -end repairs were done well. GLWS Bill

POST 5Original post

$28,000 is still to much. $26,500 would be more like it.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys! If he decides to list it, I'll post on FS. He may see what he'd get on a trade in for a used cabrio in TO or BC (car is currently with me in TO, he's in Vancouver for the next while...).

POST 7Original post

The Porsche Center here in Vancouver will probably offer him about $18K on trade.

That's too low, I got offered 26k as a trade by a Porsche dealer in Toronto in the spring for my C4S and it's not a Cab and has 120k km on it.

POST 9Original post

I will be the first to admit I over paid for mine by a few thousand. The question is how badly do you want it and do you want it now or if not how long are you willing to wait? I wanted my car badly and thought it was a good example and needed it then. So I overpaid. If you have more patience you can get a better deal.

FYI, bernardbarbour wants to buy it and it trying to manipulate price. Seriously though, start at $29,911 or something and see where you get. Realistically $27k is the basement with such low miles. You can try to go higher if you have patience. The front end damage blows.

POST 11Original post

is it a metallic color which is harder to match? if the paint work is perfect with excellent match and panel fit is pefect, the car is still going to be 15-20% less than an example with no accident. i'd say in the $25K US funds range IF the bodywork/paintwork is excellent

Wow! Guess the TO market is a lot different than Vancouver's. 996's are just not appreciated much here. I think the "bling" factor is more important than the driving experience for many people around here.
