Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes, I am alive. Thanks for all the messages asking about how I am doing but today was my first time back in I think over a year. I have been going through some personal drama but its wrapping up so feeling pretty good. You will note that I have fewer cars in my signature because I decided to only keep what I care about. The 996 is of course one of them....I will never part with that car (see pics below). I recently drove the car for the first time in months and got a ticket immediately less that 1 mile from my house....its the most fund to drive! Anyway, I will try to get back into the saddle with all of you. Also, as a preview....I am cleaning hosue and selling a bunch of stuff including a factory Taco, Aero skirts and wheels....will be posting those in the coming weeks. I look forward to catching up with all of you and continuing to learn from all of you.

POST 2Original post

Welcome back. What's that other 996 tucked away back there?

Christian, It's good to see you back on the saddle. We were all wondering what happened to you. I sent you an email, but didn't get a response. I even got bold and sent a message to one of your family members on FB, but didn't hear back. Hope the drama has ended and can breath again. I'm sure everyone here can empathize. Life has it twists and turns.

Yellow car looks the business! Nicely done and welcome back. Like the E30 M3 world, they always come back.

POST 5Original post

So you’re keeping that green thing, huh? Well, ok then. Can your Taycan dust it off in a straight line? Good to get ya back.

POST 6Original post

Glad to see ya back. Lemme know if you ever need an ear and a coffee. I'm close by, in Des Moines Nick

POST 7Original post

Oh great, here's lowpue back to humble us with his gorgeous yellow 996/7 . Very happy to see you again.

POST 11Original post

Welcome back! I hope the days from here on out go well for you. Your were always a good fella to bounce ideas off and get honest feedback. As I depart my personal 996 era, I wish you well for the future! David

POST 13Original post

Talk about a flavor of everything! Lovely garage and welcome back.

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Folks! Its great to see many familiar names and people still committed to 996 ownership! I still think its the best 911 for the true sports car lover. Which is why of when I sold all of my 911s, this is the only one that I kept. Sam-Son: As far as the black 996 in the picture, I just sold it two weeks ago. I bought it as a project car about 1.5 years ago for $9500....I could resist the deal even though it had some wierd electrical problems primarily with random window behavior and was planning on creating another track 996 like my yellow one but perhaps not with the same extreme performance. That is why I had the Aero Kit...which btw I think makes the 996 the best looking 911 ever. FlyFishNick: Absolutely would love to get together....I am surprised we haven't already met at some of the car events in the region. To the rest of you: THanks for all the kind words. You guys definitely are the ones that have made this forum my favorite and one I truly enjoy being part of.

POST 15Original post

Glad to see you back! I had a discussion at work just last week about PUE, and I mentioned knowing you.

I didnt even know what PUE was until I joined RL 6 years ago, cuz of the lowpue moniker.

POST 20Original post

Great to see ya back, Christian. STILL kicking myself for not buying those wheels from you a couple of years ago…c’est la vie. Anyway, welcome back!

Think about how much smarter we are because of RL.... Always have extra wheels sitting around depending on what type you are looking for...

Yes...912 is gone too....somewhere in Cali I believe.
