Hi, I'm looking for a 996, and found a Carrera 4 Tiptronic 18" Model from 2002, It has some whider side skirts as the base model and the 3.6 320hp engine, this one is has a "C32 Arab Gulf States" code and is imported a couple years ago, has a full service history with 30k on service cost last couple of years (engine replacement, ims upgrade with separate oil line, etc). It shows Carrera 4 on the stickers in the doorarches. But it's only rear wheel drive. I was in the opinion all the "4" had AWD, But i'm a newby in this mather, still doing my research. Regards, Arco

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The only way itd be rwd was if someone converted it. By definition, the 4 in the name indicates its a (token) awd car.
You should be able to see the diffs incursion into the trunk , and the serial number could be decoded .
Hi, no incursion in the booth, and a standing spare wheel. Probably someone replaced the stickers in the door arches and the type name during import? Can the vVin number show some clearness in this case, or are there differte decalls, badges somewher where the model/type is stated? And ther isn't a Arabic speced C4 with only RWD?
Jeeeeezzzzzzzz... C4 means All Wheel Drive! It's certainly possible that someone slapped some C4 badges on it, but... not likely. Look up the Vin # but be warned, they're not always accurate. Just crawl under the car and see if the front diff is there (you can even see it with the plastics on)...
when you say "wider side skirts" do you mean below the doors? or wide body rear fenders? can you post a pic?
I’d pass on that one. Smells fishy to me. ( Or oily, lol).
The VIN on my 02 C2 decodes to a C4 according to my insurance company and the DMV. It may be a case of mistaken coding on Porsche's part. My car definitely is rear wheel drive only. Now if that car has a C4 badge and it's a C2 then someone did something funky.
basically you were asking if all C4 cars are C4 cars which should be True by definition. Decoding the vehicle identification number may or may not be accurate.
Imported...to where? Unless a car is 25 years old or older it will not be allowed an exemption from USDoT requirements, and i do not believe a GCC spec car meets USDoT requirements. Was it previously titled and registered in the good ole USA? I would be very wary of of a sub-25 year non US spec car imported from another continent. You might end up with a paperweight that you can't register for several years...or even some nice EPA/DoT fines. Of course if you are in Canada the age limit drops to 15 years to import non-Canadian spec cars. But the Canadians do like their duties and taxes, so be prepared to pay up...eh!
