Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So I ordered replacements because I saw that my drop links boots were worn. I ordered OEM ones, but they don't fit, they had a different orientation, rather than what I have currently, the boths were facing the same direction. Doing a google search for the bilstein part number shows they aren't even for a porsche. Anyone know why i have these? and what I should replace them with? If anyone has a picture of their drop links, i'd love to see what it's suppose to look like. It's a 2001 C4. oDYX49Ul.jpg

Need more info to understand your question. I assume you are referring to the front drop links? Are you saying you bought Porsche OEM brand and they did not fit? How does Bilstein brand fit into your question? IIRC, the stock front drop link ends face opposite ways.

Correct, I bought OEM and they did not fit. Bilstein fits in my question because the picture I posted is of my drop links which are Bilsteins, part number 0048. I just looked at the ones I pulled off my car (2002 C2, not C4.) in August. They look like your second pic (like the new one) but mine were made by TRW, both the old (original to the car) and the replacements. And just to clarify, yes, the bolts are offset 90 degrees to each other, unlike what you currently have on your car. I have no idea if the front suspension is different in this regard C2 vs C4, could be, I guess.

POST 5Original post

I just noticed the box itself that my new parts came in. It appears to be TRW Part # JTS537, says it fits Boxster 09/96 - , and all 911 09/96- 08/05. Does not specify C2/C4, just says 911. The label also has a schematic of the part, the weird thing is that the schematic looks like what you have on your car (bolts facing 180 degrees opposed), not what was in the box or on my car (bolts 90 degrees different.)

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you for confirming that for me. I'm puzzled, would love to which ones i am supposed to buy!

POST 7Original post

Why don't you just order the replacement of what you have? I mean I know why you didn't the first time and are curious as to why your car is different, but at least the correct part (for you) seems to be available.

POST 8Original post

Looks like you ordered drop links for a C2. Since you have a C4, you'll need to order parts specific to it. The C2 drop links connect to the steering knuckle, and also act as the strut pinch bolt, while the C4 drop links mount directly to the strut. Call Suncoast or Pelican, they'll get you set up. -Chris

POST 9Original post

Can you post a better pic with your wheel off? That top mount does not look right for a C4. The shock/strut looks wrong for an AWD. Look at the pic of my C4S. https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...-calipers.html

The only sites that have the bilstein 0048 are all based out of Europe. Ideally i'd like to have the correct link on my car.
