Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a tentative deal to sell my 48K miles car for $30K. Do you think that's an OK price to fetch? Details of car: PSM, PSE, GT3 front bumper, 19" Champion RG5's, new Toyo T1R's, PSS9's, SSK, aluminum shifter, Bose, supple leather seats, assorted other mods. New RMS/IMS fixes, clutch, oil, brakes, serpentine belt. Like most of the Rennlist cars, it's in better condition than almost all the others out there.

POST 2Original post

Sounds right about market and a good deal for both sides. If you could get 30K I would ****** that up immediately.

POST 3Original post

I agree with Dell.... and you guys know that I just HATE to admit that! Oh.... Hi Dell!

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It's depressing but the market does what it wants.

POST 6Original post

If you are upgrading into a new car, I would not worry because the new ride is also sold at a discount. If you need cash, then its a bummer...

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm upgrading, so you are right of course. I hope to get a Turbo in the Spring.

POST 8Original post

I think that's a great deal for a buyer, especially with your Champion wheels etc.The turbo is a nice upgrade as well. GL

POST 9Original post

I think its a fair deal. The mods will not be appreciated by alot of buyers. Private sale 997's are getting into the mid 30's and as more become available I think that will continue to put downward pressure on 996 values. I don't think the chance of finding another buyer who might be willing to pay more is worth risking a $30K sale.

POST 10Original post

I bought my 2002 C2 last May for $26 from a Porsche dealer. Mine had a few more miles, but it was cherry and had a newish engine. So, yes $30K sounds right to me..good even (speaking as a seller). Mods of course don't increase value at all, just make the car harder to sell.
