Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am replacing the front sway bar links and i dont think this looks right. Looks like the previous owner did a hack job modification for the links making them adjustable and they are also shorter. Also seems like the clearance between the lca and sway bar is very tight. Any help?

POST 2Original post

Whats the length on the 2 bars, old and new? I dont remember my front links being that long. Do i have stock shocks or coilovers as co's require adjustable links sometimes. Edit. Just looked closer at the pics. You deffinately have an aftermarket sway bar or gt3 bar in there so u may have to id the bar and get the correct links. The po may not have made the old links, i have a feeling they r part of an aftermarket kit.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So my guess is that I need adjustable links? These bars have no part number in them.

POST 6Original post

A quick google search brings up this tarret gt3 bar as a 4 hole sway bar. May be what u have. Either way i bet their adjustable links will work. https://www.tarett.com/items/986-987...sba-detail.htm Edit. After looking again that one is not for a 996. I think the gmg is a 4 hole. https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/GMG996GT3SWAY.htm?pn=GMG-996-GT3SWAY&SVSVSI=996J

POST 7Original post

Are those fronts or rears? The stock (shiny) drop link looks like a front (longer than the rears)... Also, if the car has been lowered, there's a good chance you'll need adjustable links...

POST 8Original post

The stock drop links are too long to work with an adjustable swaybar. They require a shorter aftermarket link. You can also try shortening them to fit, but it usually damages them.

POST 9Original post

The stock links don't work well with adjustable sway bars , doubly so with a lowered car . If the car is lowered , it probably has adjustable toe links too .
