Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a tipronic so I have a vent line on my inlet hose. I ordered a silicone hose and now I'm wondering what to do with the vent hose when I install it.

I modified the silicon hose that came with the IPD plenum and 82mm throttle body. Cut of the vent pipe of the original intake hose, made a hole in the new intake hose and glued it together

Very cool! Is there any advantage whatsoever going this way over the first method given? I thought the rushing air of what you did may be a better way to go...lol!

I do not know. I am still wondering on how the venting of this pipe works. I suppose the venturi effect normally draws the air into the intake. Whereas with the seperate filter no active breathing force is excerted.

Does anyone know what that extra hose does? I believe it is only on a small subset of Tips. My 2000 Tip doesn't have that extra hose.

I'd like to know this as well!
