Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi folks Could anyone help by letting me know what plug should be on the dash end of these amplifier wires? Someone before me got to them and removed the plug.

POST 2Original post

It might help someone answer this question if you post what type of amp and head unit, also year of your car.

POST 3Original post

A quick google search for "porsche 996 radio wiring" brought this thread up. Scroll down and it has the wiring schmatic for your car, maybe, since we dont have the year or type. Im pretty sure when looking they were same going to the amp or to the speakers reguardless of the factory sond system. The bose harness had additonal wires. https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/996-turbo-gt2/318756-996-tt-stereo-wiring.html

" It might help someone answer this question if you post what type of amp and head unit, also year of your car ." Hi Thanks for the advice. The 'problem' I have is there is no head unit or amp either. The previous guy fitted (I use the term loosely)a Pioneer head unit and removed the amp there are Blue (20 pin) and Black (18 pin) plugs under the hood/bonnet for the amp, but no amp. The car is a 2000 Carrera 4.

Hi Thanks for the link most useful I think the plug I am missing is Yellow from this schematic

POST 6Original post

Honestly i would not put a factory head unit or amp back in. Those wires r the high level input for the amp. If u go for an aftermarket radio u ignore them and pull a rca wire(low line level) to feed the amp. That schematic will show u which wires in the frunk u use to connect to the speakers. There r no direct plugs other then the back of the factory radio for that yellow plug so it doesnt even pay to find one. If u really want the factory stuff u probably have to get one from a wreched car in a junk yard.
