Picked up a new to me 2002 c2. Drove it home and I heard load scratching noises every time i hit the gas after about 50mph in 4,5,6 gears. Nothing in the low gears or crusing on cruise control at 80MPH, just when i accelerate and every time i do... Engine felt strong. I see no leaks what-so-ever. Any ideas? Good mechanic in Nashville? Owner has tranny rebuilt 7,000 miles ago, looks like they put in two servo's and rings. a $4k job...

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Dealer says coming from ims area but was done 2 years ago and 7000 miles. Anyone?
Is it a whine or a scratching? I know you said the transmission was rebuilt but it could be the pinion gear which is housed in the transmission and maybe would not have been part of the rebuild. I had the same problem on mine. Is it loud on deceleration in higher gears? Unfortunately the easiest way to repair that is to put in a new transmission or have an additional rebuild.
clicking whine...no noise on deceleration
