Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Interesting..... Appears to be a very early '99 with VIN ending #0965 https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...ign=2017-10-06

Funny thing, the price of an LS swap isn't far off the price a nice LN build and you get a car that isn't butchered. I think the buyer overpaid.

And that's your right. But the buyer likely is happy. Personally I'd rather have the extra HP.

POST 6Original post

A Vette with the same engine is a beast too. There is an 07 advertised here, 6 speed with only 20,000 miles on it for the same money.

What do LS 996s run in the quarter? 11s or so is my wild guess

I would think it depends on what LS. The one is in this thread is an LS2, 400 hp. I can't see it pulling those numbers as a 996 turbo does low 12's.

Who can really determine what is overpaying for some one else. If that is what the buyer wants to spend his money on then only he/she can make that determination. I think the person who bought this car got a free 996 for the price of an LS swap( based on a turnkey car). I bought my '99 996 for $20k with the intention a full stage 1 engine reconstruction by FSI. All in, did I overpay? Based on the current 996 market prices probably so, but in the end, I got what I wanted.
