Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

24 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I see tons of 99 and 2000 C2 cars, and I see lots of 996.2 cars, but rarely do I see a 2001. Did they not sell as many? Were they different in any way? Just Curious.

POST 2Original post

You mean for sale or guys that own one on here? Mine is an '01 btw.

POST 3Original post

Another 01 owner. I agree I don't see much posted about them either. No idea if ours is representative, but it's been a good solid car with few issues. Maybe Porsche briefly got it right at the end of the MkI run?

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Gnat, that's what I'm going with I just mean in general. Don't see a lot of guys talking about 01s

POST 5Original post

'01 Owner here as well. My '01 has been great so far.

POST 7Original post

Because the 99 and 00 models are the best and the 01s tend to have the most IMS issues of all the Porsches and that's when the IMS issues started and so forth and on and on

POST 8Original post

'01 is when Porsche switched to plastic pistons. :P I do think that there are a lot more '99s because it really covers 2 years. Mine was born in March of '98.

I don't see why not. The 40th anniversary guys have their own thread. We should be able to have one too and it should be exciting as 01's came in multiple colors. Nothing like 40th anniversary posts saying, "I got a new car and here is a pic". "Wow, that's a great looking car..." or "I just picked up a 40th anniversay car", "We need to see some pics"

POST 11Original post

Count me in the '01 gang. We have those extra precious 4 bhp. Also, data says it should be otherwise regarding fewer 2001's. Global production of 996: 1997: 14 1998: 9,248 1999: 28,040 2000: 20,979 2001: 27,275 2002: 33,013 2003: 29,536 2004: 23,145 2005: 4,012 Total: 175,262

POST 15Original post

POST 17 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

POST 21Original post
