Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello All, New to Porsche and have had a bunch of my questions answered here I thought I would throw anther out there. First I have searched this topic in here Rennlist and on the web. Basically is IPD Competition Plenum With 82mm Throttle Body worth the money? I have read many treads containing do not expect the gains advertised to a very good product well made. I did see Jake R. even replied positively to one of the threads. Anyone who has this can you give some feedback when you have a moment. I have already updated everything needed IMS, Clutch, RMS and Third radiator. Thanks all

POST 2Original post

I did not notice a significant difference with the IPD on a '99.

POST 3Original post

Not a big difference on an 03 C2, though I think it may help sound a bit. Mine isn't a GT3 TB (82mm), just a stock TB (77?mm) + IPD plenum. To do a real GT3 TB + IPD Competition Plenum I think you may need to tune it or do some research on the implementation as you're not changing apples for apples. More diameter, larger TB should have some compensatory adjustments I think. More potential for power vs. a stock diameter plenum. I know this doesn't answer the question but maybe helps you understand what you're asking a bit better.

POST 4Original post

Not big noticeable "power" increase but definitely sharper throttle and more responsive I have the GT3 throttle body, IPD 82mm manifold, and fabspeed carbon intake

POST 5Original post

The PO of mine did a GT3 TB and IPD Competition plenum with Fabspeed intake and exhaust. They had a GIAC performance tune installed. it feels more responsive than non-modded cars I've driven, but I think the previous commenter is right that you need a tune to take advantage of the plenum and TB.

POST 6Original post

Better and sharper throttle response due to the larger diameter throttle body. This makes that the car feels like picking up rpms more rapidly. I do not believe there is a noticeable overall power increase. But there is after the engine adaptations settle a more optimal torque curve reached. Throatier sound due to the new intake pipe which bypasses the resonator in the air box.

POST 7Original post

I messed up and did all my mods all at once. Intake, plenum, throttle body, tune, motor mounts, and shirt shift kit. It woke the car up. Which one was more beneficial... I don't know, but it sure sounds really good now.

POST 8Original post

I have a slightly used IPD Comp plenum and GT3 throttle body if anyone is interested.....don't have the silicone hose because it's on my car. I do agree with the faster throttle response. The car seemed to climb higher faster up the rev ladder. Overall power doesn't really matter because it's what is happening while getting there is where you feel it.

^^That prior owner should be crowned Man of the Year Mine is back on stock intake & IPD plenum.... needs more cowbell. Although, maybe this is best as I drive it a bit easier now.

You don't know the half of it. This has been a really strange car ownership experience for me. Here is what it had when I got it: It was very well optioned from the factory and the PO added H&R Lowering Springs, Evo Intake, IPD Plenum, GT3 TB, GIAC flashed DME, Stainless Fabspeed exhaust, B&M Short shifter, staggered 19" Avant Garde wheels and new Conti Extreme Contact Tires, rolled rear fender lips, OEM Carbon shifter and brake handle, a bunch of MA carbon on the dash, and $7k worth of stereo. I ALWAYS start modding immediately. But, I had a hard time coming up with things to do. I finally had the opportunity to add a SpeedTech catless X-pipe after getting rear ended. (Although I would have preferred not getting hit!) Then I found a Momo Mod 7 to install. (Sorry for the Threadjack)
