You Tube This might be a decent tool to have under the seat or glovebox if you are fortunate enough to have one, in your 996. It would allow you to power up the electronic hood latch to get the frunk open if your battery was flat, and then maybe even jump-start the car afterward. Cheers, D.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Neat little package...but I'd want to test to see if it has enough power to "pop the hood" using the red terminal fuse box connection plus it doesn't look like the cable would be long enough to get a good ground connection. Maybe someone will test and report back.
It "might" need a short jumper wire to reach the fuse box connection, however I can attest that it has no problem cranking over the car. I have a couple of year old version of this same unit and have used it to start multiple vehicles, from small V8s, to V6s as well as a 944 Turbo race car. Works amazing. Truly valuable tool to have around.
