My '99 has been almost flawless since the day I bought it. I hope it stays that way for the next 2-3 years.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

As long as you don't drive it for the next 2-3 years. Just kidding. If you didn't have any major issues to date, I would think it unlikely your car will start to have serious problems. How many miles do you have on it?
I have 64k miles. I do all the work on the car myself and at 60k miles I did a full service on her. It shouldn't need anything for another 30k miles. Although I'm not sure how long the coolant hoses will last. They feel fine now but AFAIK, they are the originals.
Risky....... I'd rather have the warranty now, when things are starting to get old.... Good Luck, -Eli
I know what you're saying but the cost of an extended warranty for my car would be several thousand dollars. I can put that in the bank and use it for a rainy day fund. All I would be worried about would be engine and tranny issues. This seems to be rare so I will take my chances. BTW - sorry about the car being keyed. That's messed up. If it's not real bad, it can be buffed out. I've done it numerous times for my customers. Saves them from having to repaint. If it's deep though, respray is the only way to go.
Congrats on taking proper care of your car. Same good luck here. Never been to the dealer for service and never intend to.
Nope, it cannot be saved.... I looked very close and it's in there pretty deep.... Glad it's not the Porsche, reason why I never leave that thing out and when I do it's rare but when I do it's in the driveway with the windows open. -Eli
Thanks. I've had techs ask me if I was a mechanic and can't believe how well maintained my car is. I've just been working on my own cars since I was a kid. Sometimes it sucks but for the most part I enjoy it. Especially when I save like $1k! I literally laughed at the service advisor when I called to see what they charged for the 60k mile service and what was involved.
My rule of thumbs is if you can catch your thumb nail in it, there probably isn't much I can do but make it less visible. If you barely catch your nail in it, there might be help. Of course if you see paint missing....
