Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

ask for the build/serial # then also ask here: https://rennlist.com/forums/996-foru...y-and-faq.html
At least it's not the one from hell vin# end in 1068. I do love the 40AE. Glad to see they are coming down in price. Due diligence, as you are doing, is obviously the key to reducing your risk. PPI, maintenance records, etc...
That's a nice looking car and on its face appears to be in nice condition. 40th AE cars are uniquely optioned and have a strong following. But, you really need someone who knows these cars well to put eyes on it, especially since it's for sale by a small dealer. Looks like you're a 928 guy - plenty of room for shark owners in the 996 forum.

Yeah, my thought too Isn't the build number supposed to be a silver plaque on the batwing? It was missing on the 40AEFH, but it looks to be missing here too?

I also noticed the missing plaque but confirmed this was NOT the same car because of the VIN
Its also missing the 40AE chrome 5 spoke wheels!
and the car is overpriced by about $7K

It's about 10k less than the 4 listed on autotrader in the US but has a few more miles. Seems like a steal to me. Every time I've looked at them over the past few years they were high 30's to mid 40's. I would already have a deposit and PPI scheduled if I was on the hunt....

Yeah, if keeping it stock is important (and it probably should be with a 40th AE), then that's kind of a big deal. A friend had a 40th AE that he tried to find OE wheels for and the only ones he found were super expensive.

Exactly what I noticed! Before I purchased my '03 C2, I was very interested in the AE models. It was my understanding that the AE came with special edition polished Carrera II 18" wheels as standard. And so if that's true, the previous owner swapped them out with old Turbo twists. What's even worse, the dealer is claiming under the "Detailed Mechanical Features", that the car has the "carrera II" wheels which it does NOT. Yikes!!!
