Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My '99 has the CD changer in the frunk with the original Becker radio with cassette in the dash. Can anyone tell me what sort of compatibility or installation issues I might have with this Pioneer AVH-2600 unit? http://www.bestbuy.com/site/pioneer-...&skuId=7473005 Am I naive to think it is simply plug and play? (I recognize I will need a double DIN dash kit and will need to relocate the temp control). Thanks.

POST 2Original post

Haven't done it yet but planning to. I am planning on using this kit http://cai-store.com/ look for the doube din install kit and they have free tech support

...which is the new version of the 2600. It is wonderful! We even made a pretty splash screen with the porsche logo so it looks coordinated. :-) I got the double DIN mod kit from Suncoast - during their sale, along with an upper cubby. I had an installer do the work and move the a/c to the bottom position. To offset cost, I sold the old lower cubby and cd storage thing on ebay! Everything works great and looks beautiful. You won't regret it!

PS, the little box in the in the cubby has an AUX & USB inputs

I've got this unit or very similar in my car (was previously installed). I had to rig a switch to trick the parking brake lever wire in order to pair it with my phone, but other than that it is smooth sailing. I'd be interested in an aftermarket "splash" showing the P logo. The stars and other backgrounds are not exactly inspiring.

POST 7Original post

here's one -- I have another with the silver crest logo. We made all mine to match the Boxster Red Interior, so they may not suit your colors, but if you want the other, let me know. You put it on a usb and plug it into the unit -- choose USB as the option on the 2700, then when the picture comes up touch it -- you'll see download symbols and option to set as splash, background or both.

POST 8Original post

Wow that looks great. Yeah the black and silver would work best with my black/black car

Now that is a full leather interior! That's beautiful. I've never seen one so complete.

POST 13Original post

Beautiful install! On my list of to-do's after I pickup my car!

Oh my the black silver logo is gorgeous. Been wasting MANY hours trying to create the correct format file for these bloody units but man is this format FROM THE ARK. i have a phalanx of pro graphic apps on my mac and none can successfully create the correct archaic format.
