I've been monitoring a similar thread on the 997 forum. I'm wonder if the music taste varies from model to model. I personally am not a fan of any of the 997 forums entries (way too old). So I'd like to know, what gets your 996 revved up and thumpin...
What music do you listen to to get your 996 thumpin...???

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

lol, perfect.
I hope that's not true. I love the sound of the flat 6 also but that only goes so far before you want more. I put a killer sound system in mine so it competes with the best available. I only play music from this decade with a strong beat that make you want to drive and nod your head (kind of a base head)... Im sure it drives some people nuts as I guess I don't fit the mold of what a typical Porsche driver is suppose to be but I love my music. I maybe the only Porsche driver you might hear before you see... I did 200 miles yesterday. Bruno Mars, 24 karat Pandora mix.
95% The rumble from the Tubi Mufflers 5% Fleetwood Mac, ZZ Top and Heart
Pink Floyd Pulse. Eric Clapton and BB King Riding With The King.
m96 burble sounds like Dylan's electric guitar.

Bruno!! Went to his concert here a couple of weeks back...only because the wife wanted to go. I'm still partially deaf due to the over-powering bass. Totally drowned out his voice!. So glad the wife wanted to leave early. I have nothing against his music but it was painful!. Ok i'm old but have been to concerts like Stones(five times), The Who, Mountain, REO, Styx, Clapton and many others but this was excessive. Now with that out of my system; I agree with engine noise being the best but have played Neil Young "Monsanto Years", CSN greatest hits, ZZ, Fleetwood Mac, and of course any Stones. I still have the original lowly 220 with Bose and find it quite sufficient. Head nodding like this? http://www.reactiongifs.us/wp-conten...ynes_world.gif
Rockin' The Mills Brothers and head-bangin' to Johnny Mathis.
Guns n Roses, Allman Bros
The Jesse Roper Show, album "Red Bird" has been played in it's entirety 16 times in the past 2 weeks. Cross Stevie Ray Vaughan and the Allman Brothers and you've got it. Best new artist I've ever heard. Also in the car lives Porcupine Tree, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dire Straits and lots of blues.
At the moment, there is an Otis Rush CD, Dan Auerbach's Waiting on a Song, and a Shelby Lynne disc.
Usually I listen to 3.4L M96, the stuff between 3000 and 55000 Rpm. But on long highway drives, this gets played: The first Moderat album. Melodious, keeps me awake and drives me fast. Trentemller. Same thing. Radiohead, when the landscape become strange/beautiful (think rt 12 in UT). me.man.machine. Perfect for driving through the desert. Amy Winehouse. Nough said. GnR. Appetite for destruction.
In the console. Tragically Hip: Up To Here. LCD Soundsystem: This Is Happening. Radiohead: In Rainbows. O Brother Where Art Thou: Movie Soundtrack. In the player mostly. QOTSA: Songs For The Deaf. Never use the 6 disc changer.
Tannhauser overture The Ring Hell anyone of his Operas.
ZZ Top: Sharp Dressed Man. The car definitely goes faster when this is playing.
Mostly, Fabspeed's Greatest Hits.
Wild Gold Volume 1, best 50c I've ever spent at a garage sale ("yard sale") https://www.discogs.com/Various-Wild...elease/1192386

Cool, I'll have to give that a listen later... I started the Northern Exposure mix when I posted before and can't stop it. LOL! The Northern Exposure 1 CD mixes by Sasha and Digweed are generally considered the best-ever mixes of Progressive House music (a form of EDM). While there are many, many great DJ mixes that have come and gone over the years, this mix remains THE BENCHMARK of how a really well-done mix should flow from track to track and blend into one beautiful, long musical journey. Before Northern Exposure, there was also The Renaissance Collection, which IMHO are 95% as good as Northern Exposure. Those two (Sasha & Digweed) are, by far, the most recognized DJ duo of all time in the house music scene. Here's another link: You Tube
The new Queens of the Stone Age is excellent driving music. Otherwise, Spotify on shuffle. You Tube
Macklemore - Thrift Shop Snoop Dogg - Gin and Juice Flogging Molly - Float Kid Rock - Cowboy Ted Nuget - Stranglehold All thump rather well through my 10" Alpine subwoofer. D.

Yeah, this is it! Don't think I've even powered on the radio in mine this year. All my other cars have some kind of Led Zep permanently installed.
