I am not sure what the purpose is of the slide on hook cover that covers the convertible hook but mine keeps shifting around and not letting the top close properly... Should I/Can I glue it on or is that a bad idea? My mechanic and apparently the dealer, snip the holes on it to slide it in easier... Is that the right way or should I have my mechanic take the latch apart and put it on without snipping the holes on the cover? I cannot seem to have it stay in place. Help me Obi-wan you're my only hope...

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

glue it.
Yup. Snipping is the normal way of installing, but a dab of adhesive will keep it in place. Mine hasnt moved.
