Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My 40th came with the double din factory OEM Navigation Head unit. I really like the way this unit looks, however I really want some of the features that an upgraded single din head unit provides. I would like to retain the factory navigation unit in its current location, remove the CD tray storage below and install a single din unit. Has anyone done this or know if it's possible to retain the functionality of the OEM navigation unit while having the aftermarket Single Din handle the audio aspects of the stereo? Photos isn't mine, just to show what the setup looks like now. Thanks in advance!
