Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

First time experienced it day before and I think i can duplicate it. If I turn real slow with the steering wheel all the way to the left or the right, I can hear this rubbing sound from either the front left or right wheel wells (depending on which way you are turning). it is as if the tires rub somewhere on the inside. Straight line and half or 3/4th turns c there is absolutely no noise or any other issue. Any know what it is? PS: these are the standard 18" Cont N2s Thanks mickey

POST 2Original post

Mickey, I experienced full lock rubbing with my old set of wheels and tyres. The tyres were too wide and the offset of the wheel was wrong. So what size wheels, offsets and tyres do you have, plus is the car lowered?

What about your wheels (size and offset)?.........are they also stock?

Not if everything is the correct size, they don't.

POST 5Original post

Out of curiosity for my next set of tires, I did a search for "rubbing" on the 996 Forum. There were some good threads that might help you out. As mentioned, it comes down to what's your tire size? Wheel size/offset? Stock suspension, US M030, ROW M030, something else?
