Hi 996'ers... If anyone comes accross a nice 00-01 coupe please let me know. I'm in the market, 00-01's around 50K miles are my price range, seems like a decent time to buy from the looks of prices and how long some cars have been on the market. Litronics are a must have and I have a special place in my heard for Seal Gray cars Been working the Autotrader..etc.. Thanks!

Looking at it Sunday, Keeping my options open Also saw a nice Gray C4, something about it just did not seem right so I followed my instincts and passed on it, plus I's rather have the C2 anyways.
warning: marc, if u don't want to step-up for 996TT, don't go the 996 Turbo forum. the TT price i saw recently is crazy.......
Quotes source post: 4786867
I want to step up... and I probably could even afford it.. BUT than my wife would put me in a wood chipper We had a deal on what I would spend after I sold the 986S
Quotes source post: 4786922
if it JUST wood chipper for a TT, i think it's a smoking deal!
Quotes source post: 4786985
Not such a great deal if I AM GOING IN THE WOOD CHIPPER!!
Quotes source post: 4787028
I think TT's are complete over-kill! Add an unhappy wife to the mix, and the deal becomes even worse! Nice Fargo shot!
MArc - I can make you a very good deal on a 2004 C2. I have a little "wiggle room" on the price. Here is the link to the ad in the classified section. 2004 C2 Lapis Blue
I suggest you go with a 2002 or newer... and get all the improvements made to the car... well worth it... and Seal Gray looks great in these cars!!!
Quotes source post: 4787288
The budget pretty much precludes this
Marc what your budget? The TT prices are looking very inviting. http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/n...479598288.html seal gray 2002 http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/m...473747936.html

I will sleep just fine knowing that my wife will not kill me as I slept.
there is a nice black on black 02 C2 with 24k miles for sale locally for $38k
take your time looking, there are plenty of examples out there, find exactly what you want.
Almost every day someone finds a great deal on an early 996 C2, keep your eyes open for the right deal and car for you, they're everywhere.
Marc - PM'd - I've been thinking of selling -although recently fell in love with it again.
Don't let the lack of Litronics deter you from a car if you like everything else about it. There's a retrofit kit from Porsche for pre-facelift cars that I think is pretty reasonably priced. Certainly cheap enough that you could make up most of the cost with good shopping and price negotiation. I did this with mine, and along with clear sidemarkers it really freshened the look of the car. And it's an easy swap. FWIW.

Dont the retrofit Litronics lack the self leveling feature? Not that it a big deal Used to notice the ones on my Boxster S level off when I started the car

Good question. I've never noticed. But I'm quite happy with mine all the same.
