2000 C2 73K. Original starter, semi daily driver. Our weather is getting a bit cooler down here, and recently I have noticed a sound at start up - 1st of the day or after it sits all day - that sounds like the starter is not completely disengaging. You know, like I have kept on the starter after the engine fires up (but I have not). Not clear if its the starter, or just kinda sounds that way. Seems like I had this issue a couple times last winter, and the search results -then and now - on this board seem to cover the spectrum - its a starter, replace; its normal; perhaps its an air pump; mine does it on occasion, but then goes away; its belts, pulley or a combo; mine does it but dealer says no problem. Is there a bottom line, here is what it is answer?
