Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi! Tiptronic gives that P1656 error which translates into " Coolant switch-over valve". I changed that valve #14 but the error still persists - this relates to heat so this so called "ATF cooler electric shutoff valve" should activate when either the water temp or ATF oil temp goes above certain temperatures. Now the question is - where does that #19 connects to? Where exactly physically is this "ATF cooler electric shutoff valve"?

POST 2Original post

The hose #19 connects to a change-over valve (electro-vacuum solenoid) part # 996 605 123 91 ,that is located on top center of the engine near the starter motor. Remove the throttle body and both intake center plenums to get to it. The change-over valve is either bad, disconnected , or has damaged wiring to cause that code.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks - Looks like there's an updated version of that part - new version has part # 7PP906270
