Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyway way to tell if if a US car came with m030, other than the "under the hood sticker" (Mine is hard to read through age)? Thinking my 03 C2 may have it... can I tell by looking under the car, etc? Many thanks, Ross For those wondering, my car seems to be much tighter/harsher than many similai MKII 996s I have driven... this would be a pleasant suprise!

POST 2Original post

You can take a look at the springs and look for the color bars.

POST 3Original post

There is supposed to be another sticker in the maintenance booklet, if you have the booklet.

POST 4Original post

Look on the rear anti-roll bar. If it is a ROW M030 suspension it will have a green paint dab on it. If it is a USA M030 it will have a grey paint dab.

POST 5Original post

Note the single color stripe at the top of the spring denotes the spring group (length variation due to process differences) and could be either white or green for any of the spring packages (USA standard, USA sport, or ROW sport). To expand on Ubermensch's pictures, from http://www.pca.org/panorama/sample_article_3.html , the stripes toward the bottom of the springs will be: USA Std Front: Brown-Blue USA Spt Front: Gray-Blue ROW Spt Front: Green-White USA Std Rear: Brown-White USA Spt Rear: Gray-White ROW Spt Rear: Green-White FWIW, in stock form my non-M030 car agreed with everything in the article except the rear bump stop (aka supplemental spring) was part number 996.333.105.01 instead of .02. The .01 part that came out of the car was the same height as the sport version of the bump stop (.03).

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Stupid question - is this under the car, or in the engine compartment?

POST 7Original post

Is there not a option code which would denote this as well if it was factory installed? Maybe 030?

POST 8Original post

Yes, if factory installed it should show M030.

POST 11Original post

It is under the car. Here is a picture of the ROW M030. Notice the green dots on the swaybar and the shock.
