POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well after reading on here for months, I had determined that I was going to get a 1999 996 C2. When it finally came down to it though, I picked up a 2002 instead. I just have the one picture of it now, but it's great so far, Bose system, leather, gorgeous rims, and of course the Aero kit. Check it out, and let me know what you think.

POST 3Original post

Wow, the car looks excellent. Enjoy it!!! What type of wing is on the car? Post more pics when you get the chance.

POST 4Original post

Welcome and nice car...enjoy it by driving it I will let some of the pro's on this forum answer my question about your car, as I am not familiar with the Aero kit in 2002, but is it complete as it looks like it is missing the side skirts?

POST 5Original post

Congrats on the new 996. But, enjoy it by doing WHAT?

POST 6Original post

Welcome aboard...FANTASTIC RIDE! As far as Aero kit, that is an aftermarket wing...not sure on the front lip. There aren't and side rocker skirts that I can see. Something you can always add down the road. Also, you can ace the orange side markers, and update them with the clear smoked markers cheaply and in 3 minutes urself. They would great with your silver. Best of luck, j

POST 7Original post

I believe that your trunk is open. When you close it you have to push down on it.

POST 9Original post

Bwwahhahhh! Phil - I had to read your response twice for it to sink in! Doh!

POST 10Original post

Let's lighten up a bit, I add a smiley to my comment and it's a bad thing, give me a break. Here's an updated one then then ....is that better

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Haha, good eye. Yeah I had just popped the trunk and the engine bay actually a few minutes earlier, and forgot to close them before taking the shots. I have a bunch more pictures on my camera that look better, I'll post them when I get the camera hooked up. So question about the spoiler, it looks to me like it has the front lip spoiler and the rear wing, but no side skirts. My question is, if it's an aftermarket spoiler, when it was installed, did they disable the stock one from moving up and down or something?

POST 12Original post

not quite sure what wing that is...is your "spoiler" light on?

POST 13Original post

Steven - I don't think you have been around here long enough to understand Phil's comment. He has owned his '04 C4S for about 3 years and has just turned a little over 2,000 miles on it (Yes, I said Two Thousand). Some of us are always giving him a hard time about the tires rotting off the wheels... the oil turning to molasses, etc., etc. because he doesn't drive the car. So when you said "...enjoy it by driving it " and Phil's response was "But, enjoy it by doing WHAT? " which was "Phil-speak" meaning "how can one enjoy a car if you drive it?" He was actually poking a little fun at himself! The was not directed at you, it was directed at the "driving it" part. Does that make sense?

POST 14Original post

I haven't been here long enough to understand so thank you for your explanation.....

POST 15Original post

Jonas - Congrats and Welcome to Rennlist. Thanks for sharing the pic. You will have to post a few more pics of the wing, so we can determine what kind it is. It almost looks like the smaller wing designed for a Cab, but I'm not certain. You definitely have to "harvest those pumpkins" and get the clear side markers.

POST 16Original post

Tim, thanks for the clarification. 2K in 3 years, so how high is the grass around it then?

POST 17Original post

What's the world comning to if Tim and I cannot poke fun at Phil not driving his car!!! Phil, are you able to make it to my drive in July?

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Okay, here's two more pictures of the spoiler. After looking at the option list/order guide, it appears to be the "rear aero spoiler: carrera option", I think.

POST 19Original post

yup, looks like the carrera spoiler to me. Although it is very odd that there are no side skirts... Porsche usually installs everything as a kit and not individual components.

POST 20Original post

Very nice car! Enjoy it! I love those wheels, btw... -B

POST 21 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yeah, I looked this up, and apparently on the original car the side skirts would have only been another $1,500 after paying for the spoilers already...weird that the person didn't get them. Personally I don't mind, I think the spoiler makes the look, alot moreso than the skirts. Strangely another I looked at before this one had only side skirts and no spoiler package...

POST 22Original post

Weird. As I said, usually they can only be purchased as a kit. So the items are listed on the factory options sticker? The car with the side skirts would probably have had them fitted after delivery. I installed the front and sides on mine - I have not yet made up my mind if I want the rear spoiler.

POST 23Original post

I'm sure he will be there, but don't count on him driving the C4S!

POST 24Original post

I don't remember if he gave me an excuse yet.

POST 25Original post

It's tough to tell...but does your car have the front end converted to an '02 look???? J

POST 26Original post

If her *** is nicely shaped, I have no problem being a "rear spoiler!" Oh, wait... you were probably talking about a fixed wing on a car... well then, never mind!

POST 27Original post

You'll get no argument from me on that! I'm leaning towards leaving the car without the rear spoiler. It's handling great and I see no reason to get rid of the mechanical spoiler... I just like it too much.

POST 28 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Not sure what you mean by converted...since it is an 02... Here's a pic of the front: And yes the trunk is still open there.

POST 29Original post

Crap, you beat me to it. and there is a cop behind you.

POST 30 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It's a taxi. He took me from the airport to the car, this was seconds after picking it up.

POST 31Original post

I think that's a taxi!! Sorry on the conversion issue....thought you grabbed a '99! My bad. J

POST 33Original post

Maybe you need to go down to the "Big City" every now and then, just to keep up with with the times. I can say that because I had a Boerne address for over 13 years and lived in the SA area for a total of 30.

POST 34Original post

Just cause I'm a country boy doesn't mean you can make fun of me. I lived in Chicago for most of my life and I watch Cash Cab so I know what a taxi is.

POST 35Original post

Mine has the side skirts with no rear spoiler, but I agree that it seems unusual to have it the other way around.
