Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks to gota911, who took the time from his Sunday to help me through the install! Gotta say the B&M is what the factory should have as the standard shifter. It is great! While the install wasn't bad, I'm glad I had someone there who had done it before. Really great tip to get the trim pieces off (plastic spatula) without marring everything up...

POST 2Original post

Adam - It was nice to meet you today. I enjoyed helping with the B&M install. Your Lapis Blue C4S looks great!

POST 3Original post

That's great....Tim...come up to NY and help me too....I've had my SSK for about 2 weeks....haven't been able to tackle the job yet! J

POST 4Original post

Jon - no problem. If you find a buyer for my car, I'll drive it up there, drop the car off and help you install the SSK! What a Sweet deal! It really is not that difficult. The hardest part is getting the OEM shifter **** off the sihft bar. The B&M instructions are good, but they have black & white pics. I printed the instructions on my color printer and that made it much easier to see the detail in some of the pics. It took Adam and me about 1 hours and 45 minutes to do the job today. He has a painted center console, so we were very careful not to scratch it.

POST 5Original post

I have a painted center console too....I will tackle the job in the next week or so. I know it won't be that bad....especially with the tips from this board. J

POST 6Original post

i need someone in socal to help me out.......any volunteer?

POST 7Original post

Best mod you'll ever do. BTW, your avatar looks like an Isringhausen sales photo - did you get your car there? Would be interested to hear about your sales experience - I bought my C4S from them sight unseen (CPO'd) last year.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Going a little off topic here, but it's my thread, so what the heck. Yes, Isringhausen is where I got it. Sales experience was good and I'd buy from them again for the right car. Jeff Colman was my sales rep. I was also a little leery buying anything sight unseen, though mine is CPO'd too. Only very minor issues when the car was delivered - a very small chunk in a rear wheel that is ever so slightly bent (can't feel it driving, but saw it when the car was on a lift during my PPI - post purchase inspection with a local independent). They won't replace or repair it for me, so I guess I'll live with it. It was small enough that I didn't see it when the car was first delivered - found it a few days later during the inspection. I'm sure it won't be the last imperfection on the car, which I plan to drive daily and get on the track a few times per year. Otherwise the car is spotless and was as represented. Financed through Porsche Financial and was very easy transaction with them.
