Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Here's a question hopefully someone will know: if there is a small to medium side impact on the driver's side of the car, would just the side air bag deploy? Or would all the air bags deploy simultaneously. I came across a car that has the air bag warning light on and some clear issues with the driver's door and body work on the rear fender -- my thought is that it was in an accident, the side air bag deployed, and as a quick fix, a replacement door panel was slapped on and the car was put of for sale. But, of course, for my theory to work, it means that the air bags can deploy individually... and I don't know if that's true or not. Any ideas?

THE CAR WILL DEPLOY WHAT EVER AIR BAGS IT FEELS YOU NEED

AND AIRBAGS ARE VERY LOUD SO WE HAVE TO SHOUT!

POST 4Original post

My airbag light is on, but simply because I pulled the passenger seat to install the brain for the mobile theatre that almost makes me wreck that will make the airbag deploy. No matter what it will deploy....

More than likely the airbag or some of the cabling in the door was damaged. The sensor is buried inside the side rails just outboard of the seat and it takes a lot of G force to trip it. Have someone scan the car with a PST2 or Duramteric or other code scanner and see what it says.
