Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

When filling up with gas yesterday, I noticed my front passenger fender was pretty hot to the touch. In fact, the whole thing felt hot: from just behind the light all the way back behind the gas lid. I thought it might be the sun (since I am in Texas) but the other fender was not nearly as hot. I tested it again today with the same result. I took a small shop vac and vaccuumed out the debris from both radiators, but haven't determined if that was the problem. Anyone else have hot fenders? -td

POST 2Original post

I cant imagine it being the radiator(s) because if it was, you'd see it in the warning lights for water temp. I don't know where the thermostat is for the radiators...or even if there is one up there. A stuck thermostat in my Dodge would cause temp rise....but I dont' know about the P cars.

POST 3Original post

I wouldnt worry about it, if there was something wrong the car would tell you. probaly just the side of the car the sun was hitting

POST 4Original post

Not to alarm you, but i have had 996's since 1999, a few different ones, and I have never had that happen. I agree if something was wrong you would know, but it hasnt happend to me...

POST 6Original post

My TT does it..... theres a fan in there that blows out hot air i guess from the rad..get out while the car is running and you will feel it.
