Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knows a good place to get a PPI done around the Philadelphia metro area. I'm looking at the following car: http://philadelphia.craigslist.org/car/348340513.html I think the price seems a bit hefty for a 1999, but it does have 20k miles and some sort of aftermarket warranty, and I'm unsure of the options it has at this point. Thanks for any advice!

POST 2Original post

That looks like a nice car. The price is seriously high. You should be able to buy a facelifted car (02 & up) with the 3.6 engine for that money. Good luck.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a bit more info now.. the car is porsche certified. Here is the options list: http://winnerinfiniti.net/Pages/v2/V...&v=88351&d=640

POST 4Original post

Ouch! Way too expensive, even when you factor in the CPO and the low miles.

POST 6Original post

I agree - I'll sell you my car for that price! I'd love to know how they overcame the pain when they pulled that over-inflated number out of their ***.

POST 7Original post

I agree, low miles does not equal high price...but then of course it is a dealer selling it

POST 8Original post

Even with the typical ridiculous dealer mark up, that's way too high.

POST 9Original post

That car is worth 36 AT BESTTTTTT. Don't overpay....there are literally thousands of cars to be had right now...... Best of luck, as far as the PPI.....not sure. J

POST 10Original post

Price is way too high, look on autotrader and ebay for comparable pricing. I'd say 36-38K depending on warranty.

POST 11Original post

I also do not believe it can be "Porsche certified" at this point since it has transferred to an Infiniti dealer. I believe in order for it to be Porsche certified it must be sold via private party or from a Porsche dealer. Once it goes to an "off" dealer no more certification. Someone will correct me if I am wrong. Oh and that price is absurd. Not only absurd, but frankly offensive.

POST 12Original post

Very good point - the CPO is lost under those conditions - nice catch.

POST 13Original post

I think it is a Porsche dealer....but in Delaware? Says infiniti and porsche in the second link.

POST 14 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hey guys, so I guess the gist is... priced too high? Thanks for the help, I'll go in armed! The dealership is Winner in newark, de. They sell both porsche and infiniti. http://www.winnerporsche.com/ Thanks again for the feedback.. I thought it was a tad overpriced. Looks real clean in the pics. I'll update after I check it out (or buy it outright if I can strongarm a good price!)

POST 15Original post

Dogas - my '04 C2 Coupe is for sale for $52,000 OBO.

POST 16Original post

You definitely can find a '02+ car for that kind of dough. I've seen 2002 (coupes) as low as $35k, albeit with twice the mileage as that car. I don't think '99s are worth much more than the low to mid 30's at this point.

POST 17Original post

I've heard that the very early '99s had some problems. See when the car was built.

POST 18 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Gota911 -- must be cabrio. Phil, Thanks for the heads up. I might pass on this one.. I'll give the dealer a call and see what I'm working with.

POST 19Original post

I like the "Real Cars for Real People" line. It should read... "Real cars for Real Suckas"

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
