Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Could the check engine light be tied to the clutch? I notice no problems with how the car runs, but the light is on and I do know that the clutch is on its way out (I'll schedule an appointment tomorrow). Gas cap is on.

POST 2Original post

No relationship whatsoever. The DME turns on the CEL based on emission faults. Take your car to an auto parts store and have them read all the codes (while you write them down).

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I figured as much, just thought maybe these cars are so advance they tied it in (I can do anything on my own old car, but these new cars I'm helpless with). Well, it's going in soon (Tuesday if they have an appointment) for the clutch, I think it can wait. If I had to guess I would say it's spark plugs since it's got 56k miles on it. My mom did say she stalled it when pulling from a light and then the next start the light came on...I suppose it could be coincidence.
