A group of us with AKA Rally are renting out the Bonneville Salt Flats on July 16th 2007. We're trying to get a feel to see how many people would be interested in joining, as we're considering opening this up to non rally participants for a nominal fee. This is one of those once in a lifetime experiences as you can come run your street car without all the usual club fees and long waits of a normal salt flats event. The salt will be graded and prepped, "track" insurance with on site medical, 2+ mile straight away with official speed traps so you know your "top" speed. All participants will be extensively filmed and a short documentary style film will be released shortly following the event. If you're interested or have any questions, please post or shoot me a PM.

Mike Could you give us a clue as to how nominal the fee is? Similar to a track day?
Similar, yes. Right now we're looking at ~$500 due to the $20k track rental fee + insurance. Of course, the more interest we get, the lower the price will be. Not looking to make money on this, just get it done and have a good time

How many "runs" do you typically get? and what's the temperature like on the salt flats during the middle of July? -td

TD, runs are still being determined, but we will be renting from sunrise till mid afternoon. It all depends on how many people attend. Average temps are high 80's low 90's.
