I found a 2002 c4s in silver metallic, 29000 miles, out of warranty, all looks very nice, motor has not been out and so is a possible risk for the issues that I have read about in this very forum... WHat is the low and high side of the proce range for a car like this....Im thinking of picking it up for my girl, but if the motor expires, im told its 10k for a new one after trading old.... thoughts anyone ?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Depending on the condition, equipment, I would give a range of 51-55k. Look into a aftermarket warranty from warrantydirect.com. I recently purchased a 2003 Carrera 4S, Basalt, PSE, Xenon, full leather, Bose & 13,000 miles. I paid $57,000. I got a quote from warranty direct & the "major items" contract was $1700 & $3300 for the bumper to bumper. This is for a 4 year/60,000 warranty. Good luck Todd
Thanks for the update...Ive read a bit on the warranty thing, you convinced theyll come through with the goods if the engine blows like ive read a few times here ...??? Thats an awesome ride mate too CHeers
$53k without warranty $55k with...give or take.
How about a 2003 C4S, 20k miles, never a problem for $53K? It's 1 year newer and 10k less miles. Lots of exclusive options, heated seats, etc. Never a problem, always serviced. I have a link in the classifieds; though here's the information: 2003 C4S - 20,300 miles Speed Yellow Exterior Black Interior Litronic Headlights (BiXenon) Heated Sport Seats Aluminum Gauges Carbon Fiber Shifter/Handbrake Bose High-End Stereo w/CD Speed Yellow Painted Seatbacks Speed Yellow Painted Center Console Speed Yellow Stitching Speed Yellow Seatbelts Aftermods: Fabspeed Stainless Exhaust BMC Air Filter Clear Sidemarkers Any other info, just ask me... -Richie
Great deal! Get that car, and a Warrantydirect.com warranty and be in under $55k!
I just don't get the warranty deal. Why drop that scratch on a warranty that you'll almost certainly not use? How do you think Warranty Direct stays in business? I think Gant is right on about the 52-53k range, but I'd forget the warranty and get some rims.
I keep hearing about and reading about these darn motor issues, thats my biggest concern.... thx all for your responses
