Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
14 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.
0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

things that make you go Hmmmm. would this be a straight swap into 99 C2 tip ? More power lighter car.. anyone done this ?
sorry but this would not be a straight swap.
how much MORE mods will i need to do to swap it out for a 99?
wouldn't for that price a stroker kit would be more fessible?
Ok motorheads out there, is this a reasonable price for this engine?
I thought new/refurb 3.4's went for ~$6500 (?). 12K is quite a bit more for .2 liters - then again, I've never looked into this stuff and priced it.
Forget it. I did it in a race car and it was a bitch. On a street car it would not be worth the effort. It's mighty fast though!
Pretty high. I'm sure you could find one sitting around a Grand Am shop that has moved on the the 997 for much less. I suspect you could buy one from a dealer for less than $12k but the $6800 days are probably gone.
How much would it cost to swap the motor on an 02-04 996 in terms of labor/# of hours?
ttt
isnt 6800 with core exchange ? This is 12000 without core, right
that is correct $12,000 outright no core exchange
