Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Sacrilege: my first post after finally purchasing the car is a dumb "how to" question, and without pics at that... I'm about to swap the PZeros for Blizzaks, but am confounded by a funny looking bolt in the wheels: all wheels have four normal looking bolts and one odd one. It has a circular edge with some indentations (by design, not the result of wear-and-tear) around it, but no straight lines whatsoever. It is not removable with any tool in the toolkit... What is it, and what do I need to do to remove it? Many thanks and apologies in advance for the abrupt intro. S

POST 2Original post

My guess is that you are referring to the locking bolt. You should have a "key" the goes on it and then you can remove like the others.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the quick reply. Must be it then; I'll have another look at the toolkit. Pics should follow soon! S

POST 4Original post

It is definitely the locking lug. Check in your console, dash, or mine was with the spare tire when I bought my car recently.

POST 5Original post

Yep, the pouch in the spare tire cover is a fave spot to find the key, or inside the tool kit, in a little pocket with a velcro cover.

POST 6Original post

Welcome and Congrats on getting your P-car. We look forward to seeing your pics... SOON! What they ^ said about the wheel bolt. (note to self: add SMG to the "Newbie - Promised Pics" list)

POST 7Original post

hopefully you got the special key...when I bought my P...it didn't have one..so the locks to be removed by a shop.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you everyone for the tips. I did find the "key" in the little inner pocket of the spare wheel cover. Blizzaks in, PZeros out. No pics yet with winter shoes, but here goes a couple of pics with the summer attire (hope this works!). More next week, plus driving impressions, when I find some time outside work/family. Again, thanks everyone. S

POST 9Original post

Sweet, I have always liked those wheels. Enjoy her.

POST 11Original post

Nice pics and VERY nice looking car! Good job! (note to self: scratch SMG from the "Newbie - Promised Pics" list)

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks everyone for the comments. A bit more on the car + pics here S

POST 13Original post

nice looking, silver is my favorite, should be more of them.

POST 14Original post

Forget the car, I want to sit on that porch! Nice Porsche! Nich porch!

POST 16Original post

Beautiful car, and house. Where in CT are you? I grew up in Westport, and went to school in Wallingford and New London. CP

Tomb, Nutbeem, Steven C --- thanks for the comments on the Por(s)che; I do love 'em both, and for both love is at its most intense during the warmer months carpundit --- thanks x2 as well. I live in Stamford. Pretty quiet place by enlarge, with a very modest amount of local excitement, but NYC is just 47 mins away by train, or half that by P-car (actually, never drove into the city, as I don't trust parking there).
