Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I treated my 2003 996 C4 to 4 Michelin PS2's (N3 in rear). Those first few miles out the shop are excellent when the ride is buttery smooth (and your memory is still fresh on the noisy old tires that took you to the shop). It feels like a new car!

POST 3Original post

Until you hit that first high speed turn, and you actually feel like you are slipping on butter !

I went to discount tire, they had 4 of them for $1500 out the door with taxes, etc. They currently have a $70 rebate so the net will be $1430. Discount tire is close to my home and always seem to do a good job so I didn't shop for price. They were very careful with my car.

POST 5Original post

yea tirerack says you need about 300 miles to get the slippery stuff off so maybe you're just a very gentle cadillac driver? top drawer tires. enjoy.

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

5 minutes after spending $1500, the tires are perfect and I am being very gentle with them - Yes, guilty, I drove it home like an 80 year old in their Buick. I'll loosen up by the weekend.

POST 7Original post

take em out in the snow... that will loosen them up! cool, nice to get new tires, be careful till they loose the slippery goo... about 300 minumum!

POST 8Original post

I agree...new sneakers are a vast improvement over the worn out set. Enjoy your improved ride!

We have a road over here that goes through a windy pass. It's the Kole Kole Pass Road. The roads is made of crushed coral and asphalt like most Hawaii roads. This road is not smooth coat asphalt and the coral is like super coarse. Road isn't bumpy though. It's a pass you see in tora tora that goes through military grounds. Super great road for scrubbing in tires. Enjoy the new tires.

Hey, I drove that road before, it's an amazing view from the top of the pass overlooking Lualualei back towards the ocean. Unfortunately, I did not have a Porsche. In fact, quite the opposite, I had a rental minivan and the 2nd time, a rental convertible PT Cruiser. Not quite the same. Shame you need military ID to get to the pass. Would be a nice shortcut between the west and north sides of Oahu if it was open to the public.

POST 12Original post

I drove around the west end of Maui last year and it was an amazing tiny WINDY road! I was screaming for my car but had the Chevy PT cruiser thing... i think its an HTR or HTTRR or some jackass name... what a POS! a couple places the road is one lane on hairpin turns (like REALLY hairpin!) and cars have to back up quite a ways to pass each other... I liked it

Hawaii is one of my wife's and I favorite destinations. We have been to Kauai, Big Island and Maui many times - too bad its always in a Hertz Ford Mustang rental!
