Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Im considering a Porsche Certified 02 from a Porsche dealer and while I would normally have a PPE done when buying a used car, what is the consensus when getting one from a Porsche dealer and it being Certified? Any loopholes in the Certified warrantee that I should consider as warranting a further check out (besides clutch)? -Steve

POST 2Original post

You don't need to get a PPE done when buying a CPO car from the dealer but it would be a good idea to get a PPI done Just because a car is CPO'd from the dealer doesn't mean it is in tip-top shape. Couple hundred bucks is worth the piece of mind.

POST 3Original post

Newbie question here, What does PPI stand for?

POST 5Original post

I agree with Dell on this one, the PPI is a small price in relation to the car, and a second opinion (other than the sellers) is worth the piece of mind.

POST 6Original post

Mine was a 2003 cpo. I did not get a ppi. My car had a nearly dead battery (was dead a few weeks later when it was not convenient!), it had out of balance wheels (felt on test drives too) and an rms leak I did not see. All items taken care of under the warranty. I just had to spend the time to get it back to them on each account. Do you need the ppi? Nah. Would it be extra insurance againt a possible hassle later? Yeah, sure but that insurance costs too. Your call.

Man, don't you just HATE it when that happens? I know I do! Hi, Dell! (hee hee)
