Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

17 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

What is a 996/911 hard top worth on the used market? I have a buddy in town that came across one and wants me to get rid of it for him. It is seal grey and is good for 99-05 I think he said. Thanks,

POST 2Original post

Often I see them on eBay for sale starting at about $500.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

How much do these things weigh? Im wondering to see what shipping would be like on one?

POST 5Original post

Shipping is the problem, it's best to try and find a local buyer. Stan

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone in AZ want to buy a hardtop. Seal Gray. $400

POST 7Original post

Correct be if I'm wrong.....that would be 99-04 wouldn't it ?

POST 8Original post

I bought my car in Minnesota and wanted to drive it back to Seattle w/the top down. I made a crate and shipped the hardtop. It's not cheap, but it's doable.

POST 10Original post

One thing I've heard is that the 997 takes the same hardtop. It was something they didn't want to change, to avoid those costs. I think most of the parts on my 997S Cab hardtop are marked with 996. part numbers.

POST 11 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

By the way edgy, I love that p color.

POST 13Original post

Starting in 2003, the hardtop was an option, so for those 996 and 997 cars, the rear attachment mounting plates are not installed. If you retrofit a hardtop to these cars, you will also need to install the attachment mounting plates on the car. It is not hard to do, but is something that should be done along with getting the hardtop.

Good info. Thanks Orient Express.

POST 15Original post

997 561 901 11 is the main top number, however, yes appears all the associated part numbers are 996

POST 16Original post

I've seen Craigslist postings from free (if you pick it up) to $1500. Ebay listings (that actually sell) hover around $500 give or take $100

POST 17Original post

bought mine for $250 locally...they had more too......it was an exotic rental car company that stored them since they bought the 996 cabs new....my dealer said he would have GIVEN me one if he knew I wanted one...their warehouse was full of them.
