Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

If one installs smartop on vehicle could it void the warranty?

POST 2Original post

It doesn't change or alter the factory electronics of the car one bit.

POST 3Original post

Warranty for what? Just take it off before you go to the stealer.

POST 4Original post

Typical dealer... If the aftermarket part can be proven (gray area) to be the cause of failure...they don't warrantee it. I would think it would void the warranty on the top-motor, since closing the top while driving does put more strain on it. Not sure if in 03-onwards has a beefier motor, or they just felt that the stock motor was strong enough. thanks, Amir
