Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Turned the car off and went in the house to grab something. Thought I hit the door lock on the key on my way in. Came back out, the radio was still playing and there was an ignition key not removed warning light on. Hasanyone had this happen before? Is the ignition going bad? Have noticed the key is sometimes more difficult to get out.

POST 2Original post

Probably ignition switch going bad. Read the thread below, it does not cover your exact problems but had the part number for an Audi switch for $37. Chedk out DIY replacement on RennTech.org link in the 2nd post. https://rennlist.com/forums/996-forum/291126-anyone-recognize-this-electrical-problem.html

POST 3Original post

Yep, sounds like the common ignition switch failure - just the electronic part, not the mechanical part. Audi spare is the cheapest DIY option. Get it done before the elctrical issues drain your battery completely! Chris.
