Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Gents, After returning to my Baby I notice I got keyed on my drivers side door, from the side mirror to the top of my flared rocker panel. DAM ! Why do people do weak sh^t like that. I park away from everyone and still this kind of crap happens. I have a friend of mine to work on it this weekend - what a waste of money and time on senseless actions like this.

POST 2Original post

I will never understand that. People are very envious of things they can't have. I've been lucky with the Porsches so far, but I've had my BMW antenna stolen the the cell phone antenna bent, on Christmas Eve no less.

POST 3Original post

I will never understand it either. Jealous, jealous people. I'm sorry to hear about your car. I feel your pain as it has happened to me as well.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

EVO your car looks so much like mine - DAM - What A Looker - If I ever catch the bastard, they will be sorry....

POST 5Original post

I feel your pain. My 996 was keyed about 3 weeks after I got it. I really don't understand the desire to damage someone else's property.

POST 6Original post

very bad form. probable causes: improper toilet training, envy/class warfare, inability to express oneself in a non-destructive manner. but don't you feel bad. you didn't do anything wrong.

POST 7Original post

I had someone write F*CK on my right rear quarter in TOOTHPASTE (Crest, I think). Go figure....

POST 8Original post

Someone keyed my mom's MB 2x. Once on the door and second on the entire side of the car. It's not even a flashy car, E320! She is now driving my DD and no longer wants to take the MB out. I bought a car cover for her. Always look around where you park. If you are the nicest car, it's not a good sign. I cover my car anytime I leave it for longer than a couple of hours.

POST 11Original post

RJMDAD996, feel your pain... where did this happen? i live in NJ too, will try to avoid

POST 12Original post

I see that you are from Randolph. Nice area! Did you get keyed there, or out of town?

POST 13Original post

You forgot to mention alcohol, but maybe that's covered under "inability to express oneself in a non-destructive manner".

POST 14Original post

You got keyed because you are a rich ****** like us all here. If you're an employee working for minimum wage and your saw some rich dude in a nice car you are going to get envious. Of course I am not condoning this behaviour but that is why. People on the breadline have different priorities like paying the rent and when you come and waft you big *** porsche in their face some people get pleasure out of defacing it. The germans have a words for it schadenfreude http://dictionary.reference.com/word...000/05/10.html

POST 15Original post

What to you do if you get keyed.have it fixed repaint whole side of car lose factory paint job.Somebody thru some hotdog water on my car at A game.not the porsche my other car.

POST 17Original post

deep scratches are best to be resprayed. Other paint defects you maybe be able to buff out etc.

POST 18Original post

By the way, in his book *Hollywood Days, Hollywood Nights*, Ben Stein writes about sitting in a Santa Monica restaurant having a sandwich and cup of coffee and watching a punk-kid key his 928 then hop in a custom hot-rod and take off.

POST 19Original post

It's a risk we all take everytime we park the car. I always try to park it well away from other cars, mainly to stop other car owners opening their doors right into my side. I hate that. On the upside of the human race I often get people simply admiring the car and making comments like 'nice car'. Once had some one pull alongside roll down the window and take photos. There are some nice people left in the world.

POST 20Original post

Some loser no doubt. Bet if he knew you were a former Ranger he'd rethink that option

POST 21Original post

Ben Stein? I love Ben Stein - I'll check that one out. As for Mr. Rich ****** from Prague, you deserve to be keyed when you talk about "people on the breadline." In the US, "breadline" people are not the ones doing the keying - it's the punk asses. It's that "let them eat cake" mentality that has overthrown how many European governments?

POST 22Original post

I feel your pain also but in a slightly different way. Washing my car I notice a dent in the left front fender. Vertical line, obviously a door was opened into it HARD enough to dent the fender. So you know what I'm thinking. So I keep washing the car moving towards the rear. Yup, you guessed it, another dent, same as in the front fender. So obviously at least two people in a four door car got out opening the doors hard enough to dent two sections on the car. The dents where just the right difference apart to indicate a four door vehicle.....Who does this typ of sh*t.... Looking into the "dent doctor" type of repair. Only problem is the one guy that has looked at it says he has to cut a hole to get at the dent in the rear....

POST 23Original post

thats jersey for ya, malls are infamous for door dings if not more damage.

POST 24Original post

It could be that minivan you cut off before you parked. They seem to get mad when that happens. No excuse for it though.

POST 25 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I never bring my Targa to the Malls - No Way ! Only to work and back, where I park on the exec floor all alone. People will always perform stupid acts, I am never surprised. Oh well, life goes on.

POST 26Original post

Sorry to hear about your car. If I caught someone doing that to my car I'm afraid I would end up in jail. k
