Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The Gundo hack ties in the muffler inlet to the muffler outlet. The Porsche Sport Exhaust gave you a second outlet that tied into the stock outlet (and some fancy controls). The stock muffler helpfully has a bump right where the PSE tapped in for the 2nd outlet pipe. Is there some reason to do the Gundo way and not to just tap a 2nd outlet pipe and run that to the existing outlet?

Just do this, and you will be happy...do not over think it:

My understanding is that the Gundo hack does what you describe - ties into the "blank" in the muffler. It is the Fister approach that does the bypass between inlet and outlet.

The official PSE option has a valve so you can switch between too quiet or just right modes. The various mods you mentioned result in the exhaust being in just right mode all the time.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
