Just curious what the favorite blue color is for a 996. Thanks.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Paint to sample: Riveria Blue
Paint to sample metallic teal that I saw on a 997 conv. on the way home this week.
I looked for (and found) a Blue 996 about 18 months ago. During that search I was initially looking for a Midnight Blue and found quite a few of them. However, I ended up getting a Lapis (which I like very much), because of the options and the low miles (6,450) on a 2004 996. If I had to "guess" on the mix of blue 996 cars I would say Midnight = 60%, Lapis = 25%, and Cobalt = 15%. This is just my guess, with no data to back it up. BTW, there are currently 296 "blue" 996 cars, years '99 - '04, listed on Autotrader.
Ocean Blue Metallic like my 2000 Cabriolet.
Lapis
Thanks for all the replies. Tim -- That may true -- but then when I factor in the post-facelift years, manual transmission, mileage below a certain threshold, and the slew of options that I'm looking for, even on a national basis, this number then drops down to single digits... But thanks, though.
This thread brings up a subject that I've been wondering about for some time. I have an Iris Blue 99. But when I see a Lapiz blue or some other blue...It really doesn't seem like I can tell the difference in some of the shades....like the difference between the Lapiz and the Iris. Can you tell the difference? Or is the difference primarily related to a name change? Maybe I'm just color blind!!
Love Iris Blue - great color
Lapis is Lovely. It was my first choice, followed by Midnight, and then Ocean Blue, Black, and then Plaid. The fact that the car had under 15,000 miloes was a 2003 adn is CPO'ed (all at what I feel was a fair price) sealed the deal.
Ocean Blue Metallic... Why Porsche ever did away with this color on the 911 I'll never know.
ocean blue on my 13,000 mi. 200 996.
Ocean Blue
Is it Zenith? Almost bought one but failed PPI
I have cobalt envy... I wish it was as standard color. A cobalt C4S would be awesome, but I've never seen one.
My favorite blue is black.
cobalt or zenith mmmmmmm
I have lapis and love it but if I was going to special order I think I'd go mexico blue.
This poll should really help you decide.
Riad -- that's correct. It does pretty well seem to be a three way tie... Interesting none the less, though.
Best blue is not in the poll. Ocean blue hands down... IMO
Closest one to Black
In the early evening and at night, Ocean Blue looks black. See the pic in my avatar -- it was taken about an hour before sunset.
