Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just thoughts wandering.... My 996 runs Fabspeed headers, cat bypass x-pipe, into Fabspeed Maxflo cans. I don't much care for the ear-splitting sound of open exhaust - so the current setup is great on track....very Cupish to me. There are times, however, when the sound of my old 997 bypass pipes was fun..... How much would be involved in adding a 'fun button' to the car? Basically - keep my setup but install something like (not necessarily THE) valvetronic that would install after the x-pipe and before the Maxflo's? Where does the vacuum line connect? I think Lowpue is doing something similar?

POST 2Original post

I have wondered about this as well. I would like to add a bypass valve to a stock muffler, kind of making a valved gundo hack.

POST 3Original post

The valve is not difficult to have welded in, you can buy them off ebay. The harder part is all the plumbing/wiring etc and making a neat job of it.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
