Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

...is on its way out? My '99 996 C4 has the original tip tranny and 102k miles - it seems to be 'slipping' at 2k revs. This may be my imagination, but its booked into the dealer to have it looked at. What symptoms have others had when their tiptronic transmissions failed and needed to be repaired or replaced? My car is still under the Porsche extended warranty, so I'm not worried, just curious about the signs to look out for. Thanks Jason

POST 3Original post

I had mine replaced at 43k miles but mine burst a seal which required a new tranny, total cost was 9.7k.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

...and the symptom of 'bursting a seal' was? Did the car become undriveable?

POST 5Original post

lots of fluid leaking from the front of the trans and the car notmovbing it what usualy happens
