Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

This morning I woke up late, feeling hung over from another late flight home and another night without nearly enough sleep. I really just felt like bagging work and anything else for that matter. But once I faced the reality that someone has to get out there and pay for this life, I got myself together... I fired up the targa, put down the windows and retracted the targa top, and pulled out to breathe in a sunny 55 degree morning in Atlanta. Highway? Probably should, since I overslept. But, no way...head for my favorite back roads instead. With help from the fresh air and great tunes on Sirius (with no AM DJ chatter or commercials, thank you Lord), I really appreciated how fortunate I am to own this fine machine, from the view in my side mirrors of her wide hips, to the smooth tranny to the linear power delivery, to the ability to take corners and curves faster than anyone should be able. Don't think I shifted once before 5K RPM, what a sound, even over the music. Forty minutes later I'm at work (not bad for a 15 mile ride), pulled into a space on the roof parking deck so I can peer out the window at her during the day. I am sitting, parked, just laughing out loud. I can't believe all those times I have thought about ditching this car for something else. Whoever said that inanimate objects are capable of giving joy to only the shallowest of souls was either a complete dumbass, or I am even shallower than I thought. Damn that was fun. Can't wait to fire her up later. -- M P.S. Sorry for this self-absorbed note. Has anyone else had these moments?

Oh yes, pretty much most mornings and evenings

POST 3Original post

yeah man: yesterday we drove the 966 cabrio over to the Mosel river on a wine buying trip. wife behind the wheel and me groovin' in the passenger seat. it's a fabulous fall day, the sky is a nice bright blue, the trees are turning... my sweet thing gets it up to 130mph at one point on the autobahn, then it's twisty back roads through the *Hunsrucke*and she's goosing it up to 6000 and the exhaust note is sensational, then down shift and into an uphill curve that goes 180 then up-shifts on the uphill straight and we're flying! and she says "you know, this is really fun". took our '89 Jeep Cherokee (+200,000) into the shop today, and they're gonna take two weeks and give it back to us with the motor rebuilt and a new paint job and all the niggling trivial stuff fixed... So life is indeed sweet. (Except for those blasted Conti's the 966 came with. I am looking forward to replacing them next season)

Hell yeah. I bet most of the guys in this forum do. Cheers

now that i am not driving mine to work everyday, when i do get it out once a week, i am reminded of all you mentioned. it was Sir John? Lyon of Jaguar design fame who suggested the car was the inanimate object most capable of synthesizing life.
