I was attacked by a rouge plastic grocery bag on the highway the other day. It gave it's life by attaching and quickly melting itself into a hard, smelly mass on one of my mufflers and exhaust pipe. Does anyone have any sugestions on how to remove the remains? It appears to be resistant to plastic adhesive cleaner and goo-off. It seems to want to remain a permanent part of my car....

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

go for a long drive to warm it back up then attack it with a hair-dryer, scraping it off gently? funny thing is, if my wife walked into the garage and saw me drying my Porsche with a hair-dryer she probably wouldn't even blink.......
Agreed! THE best way would be to warm it up again and scrape it off. It may be messy and smelly during the process but better that for a short time during the removal process than smelly for a long time until it eventually gets burned off.
