Hello All, I've ordered the auto-dimming mirror for my '02 996 cab and received the installation TSB along with the mirror and wiring harness. I read the instructions but found them somewhat lacking. I've done a search and found some scattered threads but not a definitive "how to". I was just wondering how many people have done this mod successfully and if they had any special hints. I'm happy to purchase the 9x6 DVD but don't know if the 996 installation is the same as the Boxster that was filmed. Toolpants? Orient? Dell? Thanks!

I was going to do the install myself as well. And if I recall I should still have a pdf of the TSB. But, after giving it considerable thought I backed out and paid my local indy to install it since they are insured for damage from work on cars. Why does that matter? Simple. It is very easy to break the front windshield when removing the old rear view mirror. Well worth the 2 hours of labor I paid and the comfort knowing I didn't crack the windshield. If you are still wanting to do the install yourself, shoot me an email and I will locate the pdf
