Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The PSE fitted to my 2003 (Euro) 996 C4 Cab stopped working after only an hour! The valves are stuck in the open position, even though the dash switch works (ie the led comes on and off when you push the switch). The PSE being so fresh I simply can't believe that the valves have failed already. Anyone know which fuse works the PSE?

POST 2Original post

Valves open? Does that mewan they are constantly loud? If so, maybe a higher power is trying to tell you something!

POST 3Original post

Man, there are some people (myself included) who have actually gone through the trouble of modifying the PSE to stay in the loud mode all the time by eliminating the mid-speed cut off. Sorry, I'm not sure which fuse feeds the PSE, why not just check them all? It wouldn't take that long.

POST 4Original post

The fuse is B10 -- but if the lights on the switch change it is not the fuse. Could be the relay.

POST 5Original post

So I can just take out that fuse and it will keep PSE on full-time?! The fuse is not used for anything else? Surely it can't be that easy............

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for your answers guys. On leaving the PSE open all the time: I actually bought the system because I want to be able to go from loud to quiet. There are always times when making noise isn't desirable, like when my kids are in the car, or when I'm driving around a residential area at night. The PSE's forte, apart from the great noise it makes, is the fact that I can have my cake and eat to too... so why not take advantage of that. On the actual problem itself: I went to my Porsche dealer today and it seems that there's a fault with the actual exhaust. BTW, I'm told that the PSE is now made in a slightly different way, so maybe this "new" system is less robust than the previous one...
