So after watching the snow fly in the mountains this last week. I thought I would start the look for a winter tire, after all October is just around the corner. I wanted to go with Dunlop M3s but have been unable to find any. Now I am being told by a large tire outlet that the M3s will not be available this year, at least in my need size. Anyone else here started looking and found this to be true? What winter tires are people using out there?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I had fantastic success with the Goodyear UltraGrip GW3 last year. 265s in back, 225s up front. P.S. - You are spot on the money to start looking for winter tires as early as possible. Those things get gobbled up very quickly.
Sounds like there will be no M3's in 18's. I have a hard time to believe that. Have yet to talk with Tirerack but their website does not have any.
I've used both the Dunlops and the Blizzaks, if you can't get the Dunlops go with the Blizzaks I've had great experience with both.
I have the M3's on my Audi and they are excellent tires...I prefer them over the Blizzaks that were previously on the car. M3's are quieter and "tighter" in the turns. So far I have used them for two snow seasons and they are still 60%....
Some news. Talked with a local tire guy and he tracked down some info from Dunlop, told me that the tires are stuck in customs at the port. So looks like Ill have some M3's in my future. I hope.
why not get 17" rims and do 17" M3s.... saves you the trouble of swapping tires every year.
I like to keep the same look all year round. To me the 17" just look to small. No real reason other then personal preference.
Absolutely agree, RAC.
i have the dunlops on my wheels in 18inch for my m3 and they work great
