Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

As you can see my C4S is way to high. Front 27" Rear 26 3/4" After spending weeks reading the boards there seem to be 4 popular options for mostly street use. 1. ROW M030 2. x73 3. PSS9 4. Leave it alone. One problem I have is my car will see snow. Does anyone drive a lowered 996 in the snow? A second concern is warranty! Has anyone had a warranty claim denied because of the PSS9 after-market suspension? Sam

POST 2Original post

You can put on a set of PSS9's if you are unhappy with your cars current ride height. You can lower it in the spring and raise it in the fall. The best of both worlds.

POST 3Original post

i drive my C4 which is lowered 1" in the snow without any problems!

POST 4Original post

I drive my lowered (H&R setup) 996 TT in the snow too. No problem with the warranty. Seeing your car from the side, I'd say that option 4 is not the way to go... Greetings, --Pierre

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Your right option 4 is absolutely not the way to go!

POST 6Original post

M030 is probably your safest bet, but it only lower 1/2 inch. Depend how low do you want it.

POST 7Original post

I got ROW M030 for my C4 Cab. Benefits: Lower ride height (but not too low) Much improved handling (but not too harsh) Still OEM equipment

POST 8Original post

I wonder...how much settling occurs over time, and how much time to give things to find this out before doing this? My new '04 C4S Cab sits 26 5/8 front, 26 3/4 rear. Wouldn't mind a bit lower, but not too much (our roads stink).

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

PSS-9 is really sounding like the answer. If you don't like the height just adjust and get an alighnment. I just worry about getting denied on legit warranty claim.

POST 10Original post

Samminella, i got the bilstein's shocks and the H&R springs, a great set up. As i always said this should be the first mod, that it should be done to the 911's. Also the look is really improved!. no problem in the snow.

POST 11Original post

It doesn't look that bad as it is. Excessively lowered cars don't look right when the wheel is off center in the fender well, as if there is a geometric eccentricity.

POST 12Original post

My '02 TT sits about 3/8" lower than your measurements. I believe the C4S has the same suspension as the Turbo, so perhaps the springs do settle slightly. At my height, the wheel openings are pretty much even on the top compared to the sides. What I would not consider is any mod which makes these cars lower or stiffer, unless you really are building a track car. Anyone who thinks these cars ride smoothly has their tires underinflated!
